Secondary school certificate II: after the secondary school certificate
Secondary school leaving certificate II: What can I do after leaving secondary school?
Secondary school II is divided into two to three sections (A, B and sometimes C), depending on the canton. Individual subjects can also be taught at different levels (levels 1 to 3). Compulsory schooling ends with the completion of upper secondary school.
From the 2nd secondary school onwards, attention is paid to strengths and weaknesses in order to prepare for the transition to vocational education and training (Federal VET Diploma, Federal VET Certificate) or further education (transitional options or (technical) secondary schools) after completing secondary school.
By setting a professional or academic goal, you can work towards it in a targeted manner. Anyone with the ultimate goal of university or FIT will sooner or later have to complete secondary school (Baccalaureate).
If you want to go to a University of Applied Sciences, you need an apprenticeship qualification with a Federal Vocational Baccalaureate or secondary school leaving certificate and additional professional experience. Higher vocational education and training is available after the apprenticeship with or without a BM.
