Tipps und Entscheidungshilfen für die Ausbildungswahl

Sustainable Development, also known as Sustainable Business Development, which means "sustainable corporate development". The term sustainability is omnipresent and has become more than just a trend, but an absolute must for every company.

Companies today must take responsibility for society and the environment with their actions. This means that companies must plan their actions today with the future in mind. Sustainable development and sustainable business development are driving sustainable transformation in the economy and at the same time presenting companies with new challenges. Although sustainable business development is a key topic at management level, many still have no concrete idea of what this actually means for future corporate development or what it will look like in concrete terms.

Climate change, plastic waste in the oceans and forests, famines, refugee flows and species extinction. They show why sustainability is so urgent today. Ever since the UN adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), it has become clear that a sustainable future is everyone's business.

This does not necessarily require big steps - small steps also lead to success. In Sustainable Development or Sustainable Business Development, such steps could look like this:

On the one hand, care could be taken to ensure that products are manufactured as resource-efficiently as possible; manufacturing conditions in other countries should also be checked (child labor or conditions that are harmful to health), and attention should also be paid to the carbon footprint of transport routes. But sustainable development also needs to be implemented in marketing, for example by doing without paper and introducing digital communication.

Are you interested in the topic of sustainability or sustainable business development and would like to drive it forward in your company? Then you are in the right place with Sustainable Business Development training and further education.

Questions and answers

A key aspect of sustainable business development training is the question of how companies can make a significant contribution to sustainable development. This also raises the question of how companies can use sustainability as an opportunity for themselves and how new business models can be created that have a positive impact on the future in economic, ecological and social terms. How can a sustainable transformation take place in such a way that everyone can be motivated and involved in it?

The duration of sustainable development training or further education can vary depending on the school.

However, a Master's degree in Sustainable Business Development usually takes 3 to 4 semesters - depending on whether it is completed part-time or full-time.

Sustainable Development Master's programs are usually offered both full-time and part-time.

It is therefore possible to work part-time - although a reduced workload makes sense here, as there should still be enough time for preparation, follow-up work, studying and exam preparation.

Admission requirements may vary from provider to provider. For a Master's degree at a university of applied sciences, a Bachelor's degree in economics is usually required, as well as a good command of German (C1) and a solid command of English.

Persons with a university degree in another subject area must make up the missing prior knowledge before they are admitted to the course.

The Sustainable Business Development Master's program is usually divided into compulsory modules and compulsory elective modules. Research methodology and student research projects are also frequently included in the course content.
