Curative education - The somewhat different form of teaching

Are you a teacher and would like to enter the field of special education? Then you can complete further training as a curative education teacher. Further training is usually at Master's level.

 

Curative education teaches, supports and encourages children who have special educational needs and is sometimes also dedicated to children with intellectual disabilities. Among other things, children who are difficult to educate, have behavioral disorders or learning difficulties are often taught in special or small classes.

 

This form of teaching, which is also designed in a playful way, enables the children to grasp certain principles better. For example, learning often takes place through experience and with concrete objects. This requires a great deal of empathy, good observation skills, flexibility and certainly patience on the part of curative teachers. The training usually lasts two years, or three years if you work part-time.

Zusätzlich zu Ihren zwei Jahren Berufserfahrung in einem verwandten Bereich (Logopädie, Psychomotorik-Therapie, Sozialpädagogik, Ergotherapie, Erziehungswissenschaften, Sonderpädagogik, Psychologie) können Interessenten des Studiengangs in Schulischer Heilpädagogik ohne Lehrdiplom an einem Studienprogramm „Quereinstieg Heilpädagogik (HQ) teilnehmen, welches ihnen die notwendigen Vorkenntnisse vermittelt, um an dem Masterstudium teilnehmen zu können. Dazu wird unterschieden zwischen Quereinsteigenden mit mehr als zwei Jahren Regelschulerfahrung und solchen mit weniger als zwei Jahren Regelschulerfahrung. Beide Varianten des HQ-Studiums erstrecken sich über zusätzliche zwei Semester, also ein Jahr.

Der Masterstudiengang in Schulischer Heilpädagogik vermittelt fundiertes Wissen in der Intervention, der Diagnostik, der Prävention und der Zusammenarbeit und setzt dabei fünf Studienschwerpunkte: Individuelle Diagnostik und systemische Analyse, Förderung und Unterricht, Beratung und Reflexion, Information und Kommunikation sowie Kooperation und Koordination.

Angehenden Schulische Heilpädagogen und Schulische Heilpädagoginnen wird empfohlen, während des Masterstudiums in Schulischer Heilpädagogik mit einem Pensum von höchstens 50 Prozent einer Berufstätigkeit nachzugehen, um ausreichend Zeit für das Studium, welches sowohl Präsenzunterricht, als auch E-Learning, Selbststudium sowie Vor- und Nachbearbeitungszeit mit einschliesst, zu haben.

Berufserfahrung in der schulischen Heilpädagogik ist für den Quereinstieg in das Studium nicht erforderlich. Diese muss erst mit Eintritt in das Masterstudium erfolgt sein.

Mit einem abgeschlossenen Master in Schulischer Heilpädagogik sind Absolventen und Absolventinnen befähigt, sowohl in der integrierten Sonderschulung in Regelklassen als IS-Lehrperson, als IF-Lehrperson der Integrativen Förderung in Regelklassen, als Lehrperson in Kleinklassen, als auch in Heilpädagogischen Schulen und Zentren zu arbeiten.
