NIV 15 course: For safe installations

Electrical installations may not be carried out by just anyone, as the risk of damage or accidents is too great. Qualified persons who have the necessary knowledge to carry out installation work professionally must therefore have the appropriate training and be familiar with the Low Voltage Installation Ordinance (NIV; SR 734.27). This sets out all the important points for low-voltage electrical installations, including Article 15, which is also referred to as NIV 15.

NIV 15 is the connection permit that specifies which persons are authorized to carry out electrical installation work. This permit is issued if a company employs company electricians who have a federal certificate of competence as electricians and at least three years of professional experience or have equivalent training and further training with at least five years of experience or have passed the company electrician examination. A company can only apply for the NIV 15 connection permit if it has such a well-trained employee. The permit authorizes the person in question to connect and replace permanently installed electrical products.

However, a company does not always have employees who meet the requirements needed to apply for NIV 15. In such a case, the Inspectorate can issue a connection permit if the person who is to be used for the installation work passes an examination carried out by the Inspectorate. But what is tested? What do you need to know? And where can you find out what is important? In an exam preparation course for the NIV 15 low-voltage connection permit, which also ends with a certificate if passed, you will be taught the basics and the specialist knowledge required to pass the NIV 15 exam. The exam is primarily aimed at service technicians, maintenance specialists and operating mechanics. Find out here on Ausbildung-Weiterbildung.ch about the schools and providers where you can attend such a certificate course without obligation.
