IREB: Education, course, training, overview of schools and offers

IREB stands for the non-profit organization International Requirements Engineering Board, which has developed the Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE for short) certification model. This is aimed at requirements engineers, business analysts or specialists in software and system development, such as software testers, who wish to take an internationally recognized examination. The members of the board are made up of independent and internationally renowned experts from consulting, industry, research and education.

The aim of the board is to achieve a uniform professionalism in requirements engineering in order to give the field the relevance and distinctiveness that it deserves as an important benefit provider for the industry. Founded in 2006, the IREB is today an important body of experts for the certification of professionals in RE. Well over 50,000 people from more than 80 countries have already taken and passed the CPRE Foundation Level exam. The validity of the certificates is unlimited.

Examinations at the following levels are offered by the International Requirements Engineering Board:

• Foundation Level: The basics
• RE@Agile Primer: Requirements engineering in an agile environment
• Advanced Level: Further training for advanced users
• Expert Level: The expert examination
