The method should only be carried out by naturopaths who have completed Colon Hydrotherapy training, as a thorough and professional anamnesis is necessary, as the treatment method cannot be carried out for some diseases.

The following positive effects can occur after just three days of therapeutic fasting:

Many mistakes can be made when fasting, such as not preparing thoroughly, not drinking enough fluids, drinking the wrong fluids, not planning any exercise, ending the fast incorrectly and many more. These mistakes can also trigger complaints such as constipation, abdominal pain, listlessness, etc. It is therefore advisable to be accompanied by a fasting guide or a therapeutic fasting course.

During colon hydrotherapy, patients lie comfortably on their side or back and have several irrigation cycles with water at different temperatures introduced into the bowel (colonic irrigation) for 45 minutes. The water relaxes the intestinal muscles, which ensures odorless discharge of the intestinal contents through a drainage tube.

CHT is often part of therapeutic fasting.

Therapeutic fasting training is aimed at anyone interested in learning more about healthy fasting and at naturopaths who would like to expand their range of services and work as fasting leaders.

There are various methods of therapeutic fasting. The most widespread is the Buchinger method, which excludes all solid food and only includes water, teas, juices and broth up to a maximum of 500 calories a day in the diet. Depending on the fasting goal, the "meal plans" vary and can also include vegetables.
