How well known is the qualification "Building Technician HF" (formerly Technician HF Building Technology) among potential employers? What are the professional benefits of further training?

The course to become a qualified building technician HF (formerly technician HF building technology) has been in existence (under slightly different names) since 2010; it is well known to employers and is highly valued by them due to its practical orientation.

When designing courses, the higher technical colleges must adhere to the respective framework curricula (e.g. with regard to the number of learning hours or relevant EFZ for admission). The framework curriculum for the HF course in building technology was developed by the Swiss-Liechtenstein Building Technology Association (suissetec) together with the KHF-T Conference of Higher Technical Colleges. The joint sponsorship of the professional association and training providers guarantees that specialists with skills and competencies that are sought and needed on the job market are trained.

The technician HF courses were assigned to the "Technology" framework curriculum until fall 2022. In addition to title changes, the revision of this has also meant that each specialization now follows its own framework curriculum. The former HF Building Technology Technician course is now called "Building Technician HF" and is based on the "Building Technology" framework curriculum.
