How long does further training to become a Cyber Security Specialist (BP) take and how much does it cost?

The continuing education courses to prepare for the professional examination to become a Cyber Security Specialist with a Federal Diploma (BP) are part-time.
There are more intensive courses in 2 semesters and less intensive courses in 3 semesters.
The total number of teaching units for the entire Cyber Security Specialist course is around 520 lessons.
You have the choice between several forms of teaching: pure face-to-face teaching, pure online teaching and various forms of blended learning.
For 2-semester face-to-face courses, you should expect 3-4 half-days of teaching per week; in blended learning courses, participants and lecturers meet for a few hours a week in the virtual classroom.
The federal examinations take place once a year (November) outside the school.

The further education costs to prepare for the federal professional examination to become a Cyber Security Specialist amount to approx. CHF 15,000 for the entire course (2 or 3 semesters).
Some schools charge additional costs for enrollment, simulation exams, etc.
The fee for the federal examination as a Cyber Security Specialist is CHF 3,200 plus CHF 50 for the federal certificate (as of 2021; it is generally not included in the course costs).
The Confederation provides financial support for higher vocational education and training. If you have passed the professional examination, you will receive up to half of the training costs back from the federal government on application (regardless of the result).
