Nur wenn Ihre Ausbildung in der Cranio-Sacral Therapie alle Anforderungen des EMR (ErfahrungsMedizinisches Register) erfüllt, können Sie sich mit dieser Methode registrieren lassen und auf diese Weise Ihre Leistungen über die Zusatzversicherungen vieler Krankenkassen abrechnen lassen. Für die Craniosacraltherapie bedeutet dies, dass Sie eine Ausbildung mit dem Umfang von mindestens 200 Stunden Methodenwissen und mindestens 150 Stunden medizinische Grundlagen benötigen. Alle Schulen für die Craniosacral-Therapie geben Ihnen jedoch Auskunft über die exakten Mindestanforderungen zur Krankenkassenanerkennung und informieren Sie, welche ihrer Kurse und Lehrgänge diese Kriterien erfüllt.

Seit 2015 laufen die ersten Cranio-Sacral Vorbereitungskurse für die neue Höhere Fachprüfung (HFP), die Absolventen ein eidgenössisches Diplom als KomplementärTherapeut / KomplementärTherapeutin der Methode Craniosacral Therapie einbringt.

Es ist nicht notwendig, dass Sie bereits vor dem Start einer Ausbildung in der Cranio-Sacral Therapie eine medizinische Grundausbildung besitzen, dies können Sie auch während Ihrer Weiterbildung direkt bei der jeweiligen Schule erledigen. Sinnvoll ist es jedoch, wenn Sie frühestmöglich mit dem Erwerb des medizinischen Wissens beginnen. Klären Sie dies bitte direkt mit den Schulen für Craniosacral Therapie.

Praktizierende Cranio-Sacral Therapeuten und Therapeutinnen, die Mitglieder der Cranio Suisse sind, sind verpflichtet, regelmässige Fortbildungen zu besuchen, um ihren hohen Qualifikationsstandard zu halten. Dazu werden pro Fortbildungsperiode, die zwei Kalenderjahre umfasst, mindestens 40 Weiterbildungsstunden verlangt. Diese können aus einer Reihe von Kursangeboten ausgewählt werden und untergliedern sich in Fachkurse und Wahlkurse. Genauere Angaben zu dem Fortbildungsreglement erfragen Sie bitte direkt bei den Schulen.

Innerhalb von zwei, drei Monaten ist eine professionelle Ausbildung in der Cranio-Sacral Therapie nicht durchzuführen, dafür müssen Sie sich etwas mehr Zeit nehmen. Etwas drei Jahre wird für eine solide berufsbegleitende Ausbildung in der Craniosacraltherapie gerechnet.
