Training as a business economist in the automotive industry (HFP) takes two years and offers you an excellent basis for taking over management in a garage or car dealership. During your part-time training, you will acquire all the specialist knowledge you need to run a successful automotive company later on.
The training content includes the following topics, among others:
- Personnel management (HR)
- Corporate management
- Business administration
- Organization and management of garages
- Accounting and calculation in a garage
- Profession-specific marketing
- Construction and equipment planning for garages
- Business and labor law etc.
You should meet the following requirements in order to be admitted to the course as an automotive salesperson or automotive salesperson HFP:
- At least two years of professional experience as an automotive sales advisor, automotive diagnostician or customer service advisor in the automotive industry (each completed with a professional examination)
- or a Bachelor of Science (FH) in Automotive Engineering (old degree title: Ingenieur/in FH Automobiltechnik or Ingenieur/in HTL mit Fachrichtung Automobiltechnik) - and at least three years of professional experience in the automotive industry.
Car salespeople maintain close contact with the garage's customers and can always inform them about the latest offers. They calculate sales prices, advise on repairs, know the customs of the automobile trade and negotiate with general agencies. They are responsible for the workshop and its employees. If they work for an insurance company, automotive salespeople act as claims experts and assess damage caused by accidents or other events.
