Bachelor's degree in Aviation: Gain specialist knowledge in the field of aviation

Are you about to make a big decision about which field of study you would like to pursue? Have you just completed your A-levels or vocational baccalaureate and are thinking about your professional future? Are you motivated to devote a few more years to your studies? How about the exciting course in aviation? If you are fascinated by aviation, then this is the best prerequisite.

Would you like to study aviation to become an aviation systems specialist and deal with complex issues in this field as an aviation engineer in the future? Then take the next step and take a look at the courses on offer in this field. You will find various universities that offer qualified training courses. In addition to the technical skills you will acquire during your practical and theoretical studies, personal and social skills also play an important role in the Aviation UAS course. The qualities of flexibility, independence, resilience and structured thinking, as well as the ability to work on projects and teamwork and communication skills, are irreplaceable prerequisites for a successful career.

The aviation engineering course is run in cooperation with successful aviation companies and provides you with the best prerequisites for exciting and varied work in the interesting aviation sector. Questions and answers

In addition to full-time study, the Aviation course can also be studied as a:

  • practice-integrated Bachelor's degree program and
  • part-time studies (recommendation for workload: max. 60%)

Licenses are not automatically issued to graduates of the Aviation course. If you are interested in obtaining a commercial pilot's license, it is possible for you to complete this license training during your Bachelor's degree course, provided you pass an aptitude test.

The Bachelor's degree in Aviation at a university of applied sciences offers students the opportunity to choose an international profile after the first year of study. You will take some modules in English, obtain the English language diploma at level C1 and spend some time abroad, for example for a semester abroad, a professional internship or to write your Bachelor's thesis. Prospective engineers who do not wish to choose the international profile also have the opportunity to gain international experience during a semester or internship abroad.

After the basic studies / assessment, which teaches you the subject-specific basics, you can decide in the fourth semester on a focus that you would like to set in your future semesters of your aviation studies. This in-depth specialist training takes place in the fifth and sixth semesters and can be chosen with the following specializations:

  • Technical Engineering
  • Operational Engineering

It is also possible to train as a commercial pilot during your studies.

In order to be admitted to the Bachelor of Aviation program, prospective students need either a completed apprenticeship in a related profession with a vocational baccalaureate, a high school diploma with at least one year of relevant professional experience, an HF diploma or a vocational baccalaureate in a related field. Depending on the chosen specialization, different topics are focused on and taught during the aviation studies. The Technical Engineering specialization deals with the following topics: Aircraft systems, maintenance and repair, flight mechanics and simulation, as well as certifications. The Operational Engineering specialization deals with the following topics: Airport Processes, Air Transport Econimics, Security, Safety and Risk Management as well as national and international aviation authorities.

You will also acquire extensive knowledge of physics, mathematics and computer science and deepen your knowledge of electrical engineering, meteorology, aerodynamics, aviation law and human factors. You will also develop and expand your skills in the areas of law, self-management, business administration, team organization, communication in German and English, quality management and project management.
