The financial advisor course has been in existence since 2003 and is supported and organized by the IAF (Interessengemeinschaft im Finanzbereich), which also holds the federal professional examination for financial planners. The qualification is recognized by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (Finma) as a professional qualification for insurance intermediaries and entitles the holder to obtain a fund distribution licence.
