With the successful completion of his banking apprenticeship at UBS AG in 2000, Alexander Theine laid the foundation for his career, which he has been driving forward ever since. First as an Assistant in Client Advisory in the Private Banking UK & Ireland sector at UBS, then as an Associate Director. After moving to J. Safra Sarasin Bank, he became a Director in Client Advisory and is now a Client Advisor, Executive Director and Team Head UK & Ireland, where he is responsible for clients from the UK and Ireland.

Business economist HF and MBA

In order not only to be successful on the job market, but also to further develop his personality, Alexander Theine decided to complete further training to become a certified business economist and MBA with a degree from the University of Bedforshire, which was conducted by the Marketing & Business School Zurich MBSZ. These courses also made him realize that he still had other interests and skills lying dormant, so that he subsequently successfully completed the courses to become a lecturer in the minor subject HF and a trainer with a federal certificate.

Theine was particularly impressed by the structure of the MBSZ Business Administration HF course, which did not provide for each subject as an individual discipline, but rather as an interlocking of all learning content into an overall concept.

At the age of 25, the trained car mechanic took over the management of a car workshop and worked in this position for eight years. During this time, Martin Farner began his first further training, which earned him a federal certificate as an automotive diagnostician. Through this activity, he discovered his great interest in customer service and accounting, so that in 2010 he decided to continue his training as a business economist HF at the MBSZ.

Responsibility for around 40 employees

This training as a qualified business economist HF enabled Farner to take over operations management for Audi at AMAG in two plants, where a total of 11 employees report directly to him in after-sales management. He has second-level management responsibility for a further 25 to 30 mechanics, car valets and other employees who report directly to the workshop manager.

In addition to managing employees, as a business economist HF he is also responsible for their development, conducting job interviews and negotiating target agreements with importers. Martin Farner also monitors the key business figures, carries out AFS advertising on a smaller scale, deals with complaints, increasing customer satisfaction and long-term customer loyalty.

Clear advantage thanks to HF training

Martin Farner was able to significantly increase his market value with the extra-occupational further training at the university of applied sciences (HF) and, as a business economist HF, has a clear advantage over other employees at the same level. In addition to the business management and economics content of the training, it was above all the subjects on financing & investment and accounting from which he can still benefit greatly in his day-to-day work today.
