Gain in-depth knowledge of vegetation mapping in the CAS Vegetation Analysis and Field Botany

Are you interested in vegetation mapping and would like to work intensively on this topic in the future? Are you considering further professional training as a specialist in nature conservation, environmental consulting, engineering biology, agriculture and forestry or landscape conservation? In this case, the certificate course in comparative analysis and field botany could provide you with practical and benefit-oriented knowledge of field botany and vegetation analysis with a special focus on difficult species groups or families such as grasses, sages and sedges, as well as plants in the non-flowering stage. This course prepares you for the final thesis for the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) and is worth 15 ECTS.

In addition to previous ecological and botanical knowledge of habitats and species, you should also have knowledge of success monitoring and sample planning. A university degree or comparable qualification is also a prerequisite for admission. The CAS course lasts around 18 months and is divided into three modules. These include the precise use of aerial photographs and GPS in vegetation mapping, monitoring projects and experimental planning. Project planning and the use of VEGEDAZ are also part of the training. Extensive knowledge of field botany and knowledge of the use of suitable plants for renaturation projects round off the training.
