On the other hand, oratory is also a form of art that is used to convey a message in a meaningful, exciting, convincing and comprehensive way so that it is accepted by the audience and, at best, adopted and implemented. Das Wissen um die Merkmale eines guten Redners bildet das Kernelement eines Kurses für Rhetorik, auf dem aufbauend gezielt an der eigenen Vortragsart gefeilt wird. Teilnehmende eines solchen Kurses erlangen Sicherheit im fundierten Argumentieren und der eigenen Reaktion auf Einwände, Kritik und Fragen. Sie lernen, wie sie mit Lampenfieber besser umgehen und ein Gesamtkonzept der ganz eigenen persönlichen Kommunikation angepasst auf die entsprechenden Empfänger oder Empfängergruppe entwickeln.

Angesprochen sind bei einem Rhetorik Kurs je nach Schule und Lehrgang unterschiedliche Zielgruppen, beispielsweise Fach- und Führungskräfte, die oftmals überzeugende Vorträge halten, Diskussionen führen oder Konzepte vorstellen, und sich einen souveränen Auftritt wünschen.
