The emergency helper course - helping properly in emergency situations instead of watching

Even if we are often not aware of this: Emergency situations and accidents can happen to us anytime and anywhere. Do you know what to do in life-threatening situations? Unfortunately, the answer to this question is all too often "no".

In order to acquire exactly this knowledge and to gain confidence in dealing with emergency situations, it is advisable to complete an emergency helper course or a corresponding "refresher" course. "Refresher" courses are so-called refresher courses for graduates who have already attended the course a few years ago and would now like to refresh their knowledge.

Emergency assistance courses are offered by numerous schools and clubs and must be included, for example, when registering for the theoretical driving test Cat. B driving test.

During the 10-hour emergency aid course, participants learn the correct way to deal with a wide variety of emergency scenarios. Life-sustaining and life-saving emergency measures are demonstrated and practiced. The aim is to enable course graduates to provide optimal and appropriate first aid until the emergency services arrive. The following topics are covered:

  • Correct action in the event of traffic accidents and accidents in other situations
  • ABCD of life saving
  • Dealing with a possible respiratory arrest
  • Stop bleeding in case of imminent hemorrhage
  • Positioning of injured persons
  • Shock, the symptoms and the care of people in a state of shock

Would you like to find courses offered by associations and schools in your region and compare the individual emergency aid courses directly? Are you looking for further information on course content, dates and costs? Some schools organize regular emergency aid courses that are aimed specifically at people with disabilities and are designed to meet their needs. Would you like to take a closer look at other courses on offer? The large Swiss education portal here offers you a free and non-binding comprehensive overview of existing training courses - e.g. in first aid or emergency aid courses - in Switzerland.
