Assembly manager: For a more challenging future

As a workshop or assembly manager, you work in a metal construction company, for example, and are involved in the construction and design of doors and gates, windows, railings, conservatories, facades and much more. They ensure that production and assembly processes run smoothly. You will also be responsible for monitoring the work in progress and carrying out a final inspection. As an assembly manager, you will take on more responsibility in your company than before. This is also associated with a pay rise. Of course, you will have more responsibility and need the appropriate specialist knowledge.

Questions and answers

Es besteht die Möglichkeit, die Weiterbildung zum Montageleiter / zur Montageleiterin mit eidg. Fachausweis sowohl berufsbegleitend, als auch Vollzeit durchzuführen, wobei eine berufsbegleitende Weiterbildung üblicher ist.

Um zur Berufsprüfung (BP) Werkstatt- und Montageleiter / Montageleiterin FA zugelassen zu werden, müssen die Teilnehmenden insgesamt acht Module absolviert und erfolgreich bestanden haben. Diese sind:

  • Marketing und Akquisition
  • Werkstofftechnologie und Verfahrenstechnik
  • Kalkulation
  • Konstruieren
  • Projektmanagement
  • Personalführung
  • Bauphysik
  • Betriebsleitung

Nach Bestehen der Berufsprüfung (BP) erlangen Absolventen und Absolventinnen den Abschluss „Metallbau-Werkstatt- und Montageleiter mit eidg. Fachausweis“ respektive „Metallbau-Werkstatt- und Montageleiterin mit eidg. Fachausweis“.

Metallbau-Werkstatt- und Montageleiter/innen sind in Fassadenbau-, Metallbau- und Stahlbaufirmen angestellt. In leitender Position sind sie in der Montage und der Werkstatt tätig, wo sie in der Betriebs-, der Projekt- und der Produktionsleitung arbeiten. Im mittleren Lader führen sie ihre Mitarbeitenden und Lernenden, sorgen für einen reibungslosen Ablauf aller Arbeiten bei der Produktherstellung und Montage. Sie überwachen die Arbeiten, sind für die Mitarbeitereinteilung und die Termineinhaltung zuständig, die Materialbewirtschaftung und den Unterhalt von Fahrzeugen und Einrichtungen der Werkstatt. Auch praktische Arbeiten der Stahl- und Aluminium-Profilsysteme übernehmen sie eigenständig.

Mindestens drei Jahre Berufserfahrung im Metallbau nach dem Abschluss der Grundbildung sind für den Lehrgang zum Montageleiter / zur Montageleiterin mit eidg. Fachausweis vorzuweisen.
