Tipps und Entscheidungshilfen für die Ausbildungswahl

In order to obtain a federal certificate in marketing, sales, communication or public relations (e.g. as a marketing specialist, sales specialist, PR specialist, communication planner, copywriter, direct marketing specialist, etc.), the MarKom entrance examination is still a prerequisite up to and including the 2018 examination year. Since 2019, it is no longer mandatory. The MarKom admission exam contains MarKom exam questions relating to sales, marketing, communication, business administration, economics, law and PR. To pass the exam with confidence, it is advisable to attend a MarKom preparation course.

Numerous renowned schools throughout Switzerland offer you professional preparation courses during which all MarKom exam questions are dealt with and clarified in detail. In addition to the main topics mentioned above (marketing, PR, copywriting, sales and communication), the following important basic business subjects are also covered: law, accounting/controlling, business administration and economics. In this way, all participants in a preparatory course for the MarKom certificate examination gain a comprehensive insight into the various subject areas. This newly acquired knowledge also serves as a sound basis for decision-making if it was not clear from the outset which professional direction to take after the entrance examination.

This knowledge is essential for your future training and the preceding exam, which is quite extensive. Within four hours, you will be asked questions on seven subject areas. Each area lasts between 25 and 60 minutes and is written. MarKom exam questions are asked in the following areas:

  • Business Administration (BWL)
  • Economics (VWL)
  • Law
  • Marketing
  • Sales and distribution
  • Marketing communication
  • PR

Questions and answers

Sie können sich bei der MarKom Zertifikatsprüfung nicht aussuchen, welche Prüfungsteile Sie bearbeiten und welche nicht, so dass Sie alle sieben Teile mit mindestens 3.0 bestehen, wobei nur eine Note unter 4.0 und auch der Durchschnitt aller Prüfungsteile nicht unter 4.0 liegen darf. Das bedeutet, dass Sie auch MarKom Prüfungsfragen in Recht beantworten müssen, ebenso wie in BWL, in VWL, in Marketing, Verkauf und Distribution, in PR und Marketingkommunikation. Detaillierte Inhalte erfragen Sie bitte direkt bei den Schulen.

Während eines Vorbereitungskurses bereiten Sie sich auf die Prüfung vor und beantworten dabei auch eine ganze Reihe von MarKom Prüfungsfragen der letzten Jahre. Nachdem Sie sich online für die Zertifikatsprüfung angemeldet haben, erhalten Sie zudem Zugang zum Übungstool (Null-Serie), das Übungen zu allen sieben Prüfungsbereichen aufweist und das Sie bearbeiten müssen, um am Prüfungstag freigeschaltet zu werden. Auch bieten viele Schulen eigens entwickelte Tools, bei denen Sie 500 oder mehr Prüfungsfragen finden.

Ihnen wird in einem Vorbereitungskurs nicht nur theoretisches Wissen vermittelt, Sie wenden dies auch praktisch in Übungen an. Je nach Schule wird die Prüfungsvorbereitung in Form von Beantwortung von MarKom Prüfungsfragen unter möglichst realen Prüfungsbedingungen (4 Stunden wie in der Prüfung ohne Hilfsmittel oder ähnlichem) unterschiedlich oft durchgeführt, doch erhalten Sie bei einigen Schulen zudem Zugang zu ihrem Online-Tool, in dem Sie jederzeit auf eine grosse Anzahl an Prüfungsfragen zugreifen können und diese für sich zu Hause bearbeiten können.

Sie können nicht davon ausgehen, dass die MarKom Prüfungsfragen vom Wortlaut und Inhalt exakt identisch mit denen des Übungstools sind. Versteifen Sie sich daher nicht ausschliesslich auf das Auswendiglernen der Fragen und Antworten, sondern achten Sie darauf, dass Sie auch tatsächlich den Inhalt und den Zusammenhang begreifen, so dass Sie auch zu einer eigenständigen Antwort fähig sind.

Die MarKom Zertifikatsprüfung dient als Basis für weiterführende Berufsprüfungen in den Bereichen Verkauf / Vertrieb, Kommunikation / Werbung, Text, PR sowie Marketing. Sie müssen jedoch nach einer MarKom-Prüfung und der Beantwortung aller MarKom Prüfungsfragen nicht zwangsläufig einen eidgenössischen Fachausweis anstreben. Sie dient als Orientierung, damit Sie mehr über die einzelnen Bereiche erfahren und sich im Anschluss eventuell besser für eine Fachrichtung entscheiden können. Daher ist die Prüfung für jeden Teilnehmer, ganz gleich welche Zukunftsaussichten er verfolgt, komplett identisch. Ab dem Prüfungsjahr 2019 ist die Zertifikatsprüfung jedoch für eine Zulassung zu den Berufsprüfungen nicht mehr obligatorisch.
