My name is Jürg Koch. I am the school and site manager of Minerva Baden and a member of the management of Minerva Switzerland. I am also the product manager for further training within the Minerva locations.
The VSK Higher Business Diploma is suitable for anyone who would like to continue their education after completing basic commercial training or a commercial diploma and develop into a management position.
The requirements for admission to the VSK Advanced Business Diploma are a commercial diploma or basic commercial training. Participants must have basic commercial knowledge. This is particularly important for people who come from a craft or technical profession and are entering the further education course via a commercial diploma.
The content of the VSK Advanced Business Diploma is spread across the entire management sector and is very practice-oriented. Later on, you can support your superiors or even take on a management role yourself. The subjects include
The Advanced Business Diploma course lasts one year and can be completed on a part-time basis. The course has a modular structure. This means that half of the subjects are completed after one semester. The second half is then completed at the end of the second semester. This means that there is no final examination covering all subjects at the end of the Higher Business Diploma course. We have recently started offering the course as a hybrid course so that participants can decide for themselves whether they want to attend the lessons on site or follow them from home. It is important to us that there is always the opportunity for on-site teaching.
The Higher Business Diploma course comprises an average of around 8 lessons per week throughout the year. Around half of this time must also be invested independently for preparation, follow-up and learning.
The Higher Business Diploma leads to the title of Certified Business Specialist VSK. This is a protected title from the Association of Swiss Management Schools (VSK).

Minerva always tries to be close to the market. This means that we constantly review existing courses for their market conformity and market demand. We also evaluate the market and our students to see if there are any courses that would be desirable and in demand. The successful completion of as many students as possible is also important to us. That is why we always support our students very closely. Lecturers are always available to answer students' questions and solve problems - even for the Advanced Business Diploma.
The advantage of the Minerva schools is that they belong to the Kalaidos Education Group, the Association of Swiss Business Schools VSHJ and the Association of Swiss Management Schools VSK. As a result, students can benefit from this association for the Higher Business Diploma and other courses. The exchange between the individual education group managers is of great value. All Minerva locations are very close to the train station and therefore close to the city center. Nevertheless, there are plenty of parking spaces available for people who wish to travel by car. In general, we have switched to hybrid teaching in continuing education courses - especially where courses take place in the evening and travel to cities is difficult due to traffic. This means that students can decide for themselves whether they want to come on site or attend classes from home. This is also the case for the Advanced Business Diploma.
Minerva has high success rates for all qualifications, whether at basic training or continuing education level. Even for courses leading to federal qualifications, our success rates are usually above 80 percent, which is well above the Swiss average. This means that our concepts are right and our lecturers provide practical training that is close to the performance targets. This then leads to these good results - also for the Advanced Diploma in Business. Word gets around about these high chances of success and we have many prospective students who come to us for a consultation on the basis of a recommendation.
