Curative early education: training, information and schools

Early remedial education is an early intervention for children from birth to around 8 years of age who show abnormalities in their development. The disorders can occur, for example, in the linguistic, emotional, mental, motor or social areas. Often one or more of the above-mentioned disorders are accompanied by a deficiency in the development of perception. Professional assessment and helpful support for the affected families in education and prevention provide the children with optimal support. In this way, they learn to perceive their environment, make motor progress, learn to walk and talk and become increasingly independent over time. Thanks to the Master's degree course in "Curative Early Education", specialists are trained to provide professional support to children with developmental difficulties, impairments or disabilities. The course is completed over six semesters and has a modular structure. Each module is self-contained and requires a successful performance record. The course corresponds to 110 CP (ECTS points).

Teaching takes place through lectures, e-learning and also consists of a large proportion of self-study. Another very interesting part of the course is the so-called practical supervision (practical visits in small groups). The course concludes with a Master's thesis. The prerequisite for admission to the course is a completed teaching diploma, a Bachelor's degree in speech therapy, psychomotor therapy or a related discipline.
