Production specialists are a crucial link between employees and management. They have to put their leadership skills, in-depth specialist knowledge and understanding of interrelationships in production and operations into practice every day. As part of a team, they manufacture sophisticated parts and products for the mechanical, electrical and metal industries. In order to optimize the work processes, the technically demanding production process is planned accordingly and the necessary work steps are initiated.

Production specialists are familiar with the structure and functions of internal production systems and internal interrelationships. They are able to reduce or completely eliminate downtime. Errors in production and development processes are completely prevented by these specialists. Another important area is the production of individual parts and assemblies, which must be calculated accurately and processed cost-effectively. Production specialists can help decide on investments and the maintenance of the value of machines, tools and production equipment in the company. They maintain, service and repair equipment and recognize at an early stage when something needs to be replaced. They also procure raw materials, auxiliary and operating materials, semi-finished and finished products - always cost-optimized, of course.

Für die Zulassung zur Abschlussprüfung Produktionsfachfrau / Produktionsfachmann mit eidg. Fachausweis (Fertigungsfachmann) ist ein eidgenössisches Fähigkeitszeugnis EFZ oder ein gleichwertiger Ausweis in folgenden Berufen obligatorisch:

  • Konstrukteur/in EFZ
  • Polymechaniker/in EFZ
  • Mechaniker/in EFZ
  • Produktionsmechaniker/in EFZ

Die Dauer der Weiterbildung zum Produktionsfachmann mit eidg. Fachausweis (ehemals Fertigungsfachmann) kann je nach Schule variieren und beläuft sich auf zwei bis drei Semester berufsbegleitend. Hinzu kommen sechs Wochen, die Sie für die Erstellung der Projektarbeit benötigen.

Der Besuch eines Vorbereitungskurses für die Berufsprüfung (BP) zum Fertigungsfachmann bzw. Produktionsfachmann / Produktionsfachfrau FA sind alle erforderlichen Modulabschlüsse vorzuweisen, respektive Gleichwertigkeitsbestätigungen zu erbringen, welche die benötigten Qualifikationen und Kompetenzen, die auf anderem Wege erworben wurden, bestätigen.

Die Abschlussprüfung der Berufsprüfung Produktionsfachmann /Produktionsfachfrau mit eidg. Fachausweis (vormals Fertigungsfachmann) setzt sich aus einer schriftlich zu erstellenden Projektarbeit zusammen, die dreifach gewichtet wird und in einer 20-minütigen Präsentation (einfache Gewichtung) vorgestellt wird. Anschliessend findet ein circa 40-minütiges Fachgespräch statt, welches doppelt gewichtet wird. Detaillierte Informationen über Inhalt, Aufbau und Umfang der Projektarbeit erhalten Sie direkt bei den Schulen für Maschinenbau und Metallverarbeitung.

Die Weiterbildung zur Berufsprüfung (BP) Fertigungsfachmann, respektive Produktionsfachmann mit eidg. Fachausweis umfasst sechs Fachmodule sowie ein Fach-Wahlmodul. Diese sind:
