In the CAS Clinical Specialist, participants acquire skills that enable them to take on various demanding and responsible tasks within a delegation by a doctor and in collaboration with the medical profession. This includes the following activities:
- The medical history based on the physical examination
- Making a diagnosis or considering and taking into account a possible consultative diagnosis in collaboration with the doctor
- The design and implementation of a treatment plan
- Assisting with operations
- Performing minor procedures on the doctor's orders
- Responsibility for the appropriate forwarding to the addressee
- Ordering and organizing transfers and referrals
- The creation of documentation, reports and protocols
The CAS Clinical Specialist is divided into three modules, with the first module containing seven topics, all of which are completed in a written examination (laboratory and imaging diagnostics, pharmacology, pneumology, cardiology, pain management and dealing with emergencies).
The second module focuses on organization, planning, consulting, communication, information flow and presentation skills.
The third module can be completed either with a focus on oncology or administration and organization in healthcare.
The CAS Clinical Specialist is aimed at nursing professionals HF or FH, as well as assistant doctors who have just completed their studies or clinical specialists who would like to have their skills confirmed in a degree.
