In order to offer the Cardiovascular Perfusion (CP) specialist course, which has been on offer for some time, as a recognized university degree, the MAS in Cardiovascular Perfusion FH was designed in line with the requirements of the European Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (EBCP). In addition to in-depth specialist knowledge, the trend is towards minimally invasive procedures, which leads to ongoing and constant changes in the technical environment, requirements and patient focus.

The focus of the course is on practice in an operational setting, which promotes and deepens the CP specialists' skills.

During the course, students will learn how to perform extracorporeal circulation, measures for the preparation and re-transfusion of autologous blood components and perioperative haemofiltration/haemodialysis. They will also learn to perform tasks in organ transplantation, patient monitoring in the context of extracorporeal circulation or equipment support in the context of minimally invasive heart surgery. They are also involved in cardiology and pediatric cardiology diagnostics and pacemaker therapy.

Questions and answers

Der komplette Masterstudiengang umfasst 90 ECTS und 14 Module. Für jedes Modul müssen die Teilnehmenden mit vier bis fünf Tagen Präsenzzeit rechnen, die jeweils acht Lektionen umfassen. Hinzu kommen selbstverständlich noch das Selbststudium, Vor- und Nachbereitungszeit, Prüfungsvorbereitungen sowie die Masterarbeit.

Insgesamt drei Jahre dauert der MAS in Cardiovascular Perfusion, jedes Modul etwa zwei Monate.

Neun Module, zwei Practice-Module sowie drei MAS Module umfasst der Master of Advanced Studies MAS in Cardiovascular Perfusion. Die neun Module sind:

  • Medicine I
  • Medical Technology and Natural Science I
  • Medicine II and Perfusion Science I
  • Perfusion Science II
  • Applied Perfusion Science I
  • Applied Perfusion Science II
  • Applied Perfusion Science III
  • Health Care Economy

Nach erfolgreichem Abschluss der Weiterbildung erlangen Absolventen und Absolventinnen den Master of Advanced Studies Kalaidos FH in Cardiovascular Perfusion with Certificate EBCP (European Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion).

Ja, der Masterstudiengang MAS in Cardiovascular Perfusion wird ausschliesslich in englischer Sprache unterrichtet. Auch alle Studienunterlagen werden auf Englisch übersetzt.

Für die Zulassung zum MAS in Cardiovascular Perfusion benötigen die Teilnehmenden einen Abschluss als diplomierte/r Pflegefachmann / Pflegefachfrau HF /FH oder einen gleichwertigen akkreditierten Abschluss, eine Anästhesie-oder Intensivpflege-Ausbildung oder eine vergleichbare Ausbildung besitzen, englische Texte lesen und verstehen können sowie die Möglichkeit haben, im Bereich der Kardiovaskulären Perfusion ein Praktikum zu absolvieren. Alle geeigneten Studieninteressenten nehmen an einem Aufnahmegespräch teil.
