Biofeedback is an alternative treatment option that is part of behavioral medicine. It can be used for clients with physical, psycho-osomatic or chronic complaints. The aim is for clients to learn to perceive and influence subconscious processes in their own bodies. These include, for example, blood pressure, heart rate, the activity of the sweat glands or even brain waves. Patients are connected to biofeedback devices using various sensors that monitor muscle tension, blood pressure or sweat gland activity. This data is transmitted directly to the screen, allowing the processes to be tracked immediately. This leads to revealing insights into the body's reaction to external influences and internal processes and can be helpful in coping with the processes, e.g. by means of relaxation techniques.
