What educational paths are open to me thanks to the vocational baccalaureate?

With the vocational baccalaureate, you will create new opportunities for yourself thanks to the extended general education and additional specialist knowledge within the profession you have learned. You can apply for more demanding jobs and hope not only for a higher salary, but also for greater success and satisfaction with your performance.

If you would like to study after completing your vocational baccalaureate, the most important option is to study at a university of applied sciences. You will then have exam-free access to a Bachelor's degree course in a subject related to the profession you have learned.

An exampleLet's assume you have completed an apprenticeship as a polymechanic with the EFZ and realized during your apprenticeship that you are interested in technical contexts and love precise work, but that you don't always want to work in a workshop and at a desk. With the vocational baccalaureate in engineering, architecture and life sciences, you have the opportunity to study aviation, for example, and develop your skills in aircraft engineering or as a pilot.
